Support Package to Assist Kimberley Chambers of Commerce & Industry

The Boards of Regional Development Australia Kimberley (RDAK) and the Kimberley Development Commission (KDC) are pleased to announce the release of a joint support package to assist Chambers of Commerce in the Kimberley.

RDAK and KDC are providing the three Kimberley Chambers of Commerce a one-off payment of $20,000 each, to ensure all Kimberley Chambers of Commerce can continue to provide their valuable services during this challenging time and are able to continue to support businesses across the Kimberley.

RDAK and KDC are committed to ensuring ongoing sustainable economic development for the region and recognise the important role Chambers of Commerce play in the small businesses sector, which has been significantly impacted by the current crisis. This assistance will enable Chambers of Commerce to maintain delivery of advisory services, and support their members and small businesses, particularly in relation to COVID-19 matters.

Chair of the Kimberley Development Commission, James Brown commented:

“The impact of Covid-19 has been particularly severe on the Kimberley economy. Now more than ever the business community needs strong leadership, alignment and support. We are pleased that the KDC and RDAK can deliver this funding to the Chambers as we collectively navigate through this crisis.”

Chair of Regional Development Australia Kimberley, Elsia Archer OAM JP said:

“Providing good advice, strong and informed sector advocacy and keeping the small business sector connected has never been more important and the Kimberley Chambers of Commerce excel at doing those things. The Boards of the Kimberley Development Commission and Regional Development Australia – Kimberley are proud to support their important work.”
